Your Circularity results live under Impact Data > Circularity. Not every indicator in this section requires the same amount of input — here’s what unlocks what. Most of this data is declared in one place: Additional parameters.
Minimum — generates feedstock and waste indicators:
- Material composition and weight (Step 1: Article, Step 2: Material)
To unlock Durability and Reparability:
- Material quality: Colour fastness, Pilling resistance, and whether materials are compatible with each other to ensure overall durability
- Repairability: whether the article uses constructions that allow repair (accessible seams), and whether main components are designed to be detachable without damaging the article
- Timeless design: whether the article uses timeless or classic styles, and neutral or timeless colours
- Modularity / adjustability: whether it incorporates adjustable elements (sizing, belts, extra buttons), and whether it’s designed for multi-functionality or modular use
- Selling price — used to assess how affordable repair is relative to the product’s price
- Article application — determines how these practices are weighted against each other, since durability factors matter differently by category (e.g. timeless design counts more for occasionwear, modularity counts more for childrenswear)
- Brand-level practices: repair services, second-life programs (resale, rental, donation), spare parts availability, care communication — these also contribute to how long and intensively your product is used
If you don’t have a declared test result for colour fastness or pilling resistance, BCome applies a conservative default rather than the best possible score, so leaving them blank never inflates your result.
To unlock Recyclability:
- Your material composition (already declared for the minimum indicators) — the fewer different fibers and the more dominant material your article has, the higher it scores
- Any functional finishings (DWR, flame-retardant, antibacterial, etc.) declared in Step 2: Material — these lower the score, so leaving them undeclared won’t improve your result
- Component separability: whether non-textile accessories (zippers, buttons, interlinings) are easily detachable
To unlock Collection & end-of-life indicators:
- Recovery rate through end-of-life collectors (%) — whether your brand runs a take-back or collection program at all, and at what rate
- End-of-life collection — Recycling (%) and Reuse (%) — how collected items are split between the two
- Recycling efficiency (%) — the share of collected material that’s actually recovered and returned to the economy, rather than lost in the recycling process itself
Without this data, BCome still shows a result for these indicators, based on global default collection and recycling rates — but declaring your own program data is what makes the result reflect your brand specifically, rather than the market average.
To unlock your overall Circularity indicator (MCI):
- This is the summary score, so it doesn’t need separate data of its own — it’s calculated from everything above, plus your brand-level practices: repair services, second-life programs, care communication, and product range breadth (linked to your declared Market segment — a narrower, more curated range within that segment contributes positively). Without these declared, your product is scored at the industry average for how intensively it’s used; declaring them is what allows the summary score to reflect real use-extension beyond that baseline.
If you leave any of these blank, BCome doesn’t penalize you — it applies the industry-average value instead, so your score reflects only what you’ve actually declared, without guessing in your favor or against you.
