What is Corporate Carbon (Scope 1 & 2) and what is it for?

Corporate Carbon calculates your company’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, following the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. You fill in a form with the energy, fuel and refrigerant data of your sites, and BCome turns it into a corporate carbon inventory.

What it covers

  • Scope 1 (direct emissions): fuel burned in boilers, generators and other equipment (stationary combustion), fuel used by company vehicles (mobile combustion) and refrigerant leaks (fugitive emissions).
  • Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy): electricity, and purchased heat, steam, cooling or compressed air.

What it does not cover

  • Scope 3, meaning the emissions of your value chain (suppliers, product use, employee commuting). Categories 1 (purchased goods and services) and 4 (upstream transportation and distribution) are covered through the LCA module, not through this form.

Good to know

  • Emission factors come from MITECO, DEFRA and IEA, and the approach is aligned with ESRS E1.
  • You report a 12-month period and can set a base year to compare future years.
  • If you do not have exact data for some source, you can enter an estimate and say so in the Data source column.
