How do I declare my electricity instrument (GO, REC, green tariff, PPA)?

Select the instrument that backs your electricity in the Type of contractual instrument column of each electricity row. It only affects the market-based result.

Options:

  • GO — Guarantee of Origin (EU): certificate of renewable origin issued in Europe.
  • REC — Renewable Energy Certificate (USA/Canada): certificate used in the US and Canada. An I-REC is declared with this option.
  • Green tariff with audited supplier factor: renewable tariff for which your supplier gives an audited emission factor. A PPA is declared with this option, provided that factor is supplied.
  • No: you have no instrument; the country’s residual mix applies.

Steps

  1. In the electricity row, open the instrument dropdown.
  2. Select the option that matches your contract.
  3. Fill in Reference / Certificate No. and Reference file name.

Good to know

  • Declare an instrument only for the volume it actually covers.
  • For a green tariff, enter the audited factor from your supplier (kgCO₂e/kWh) in the market-based factor column.
