How is my Total collection rate calculated?

Under Impact Data > Circularity, you’ll find your Total collection rate — even if your brand doesn’t run its own take-back or collection program.

If you don’t have a program of your own, this rate won’t show as 0%. BCome applies a global default of 25% — the estimated average share of textiles collected for recycling or reuse worldwide — so that not having a program doesn’t score worse than not declaring anything at all.

If you do run a take-back program, your declared collection rate is added to this 25% industry standard, applied to the portion not yet covered by your own rate:

Total collection rate = your declared rate + (100% − your declared rate) × 25%

So if you declare a 30% collection rate, your Total collection rate becomes 30% + (70% × 25%) = 47.5% — not simply 30% + 25%. This way, the industry default only fills the gap left by what you haven’t declared, and your own program data always improves your result relative to that 25% baseline, never lowers it.
