How do I report refrigerant recharges?

Report each recharge of refrigerant gas in the Scope 1 – Refrigerants tab, with the gas type and the kilograms recharged in the period. Refrigerant leaks are Scope 1 fugitive emissions.

Steps

  1. In the Emission Sources tab, add each piece of equipment (A/C unit, cold room) with the category Refrigerant – Fugitive and select its Gas type.
  2. In the Scope 1 – Refrigerants tab, add one row per recharge with the Site ID, an equipment description (for example, “A/C floor 2”), the Gas type and the Amount recharged (kg).
  3. Select the Data source of the figure.

Where to find the data

The Data source options show the usual documents: HVAC maintenance delivery note, annual maintenance contract, internal refill record and manufacturer data or technical datasheet. If you only have an estimate, select “Estimate based on equipment capacity”.

Good to know

  • The gas is usually written on the equipment label or in the maintenance contract. If you cannot find it, select “Unknown gas”.
  • Columns marked Optional can be left empty.
